the thing that scares me is that the people who approved this article are probably 360 owners who are looking to discredit the ps3 - clearly didnt pay attention to any of the posting rules.

stop being a blind fanboy. electrical equipment fails. It happens. It is not a co-ordinated attempt by owners of another console to make out your console is rubbish.

Please shut up. Your comments are just the kind of thing that ruins this website - unless you can come up with a sensible comment about the article, surely its better not to post at all.

Comments like that give xbox owners a bad name.

and here we go again. Someone posts a perfectly normal article about a small number of ps3 failures, and someone has to come out and make some ridiculous comment about it being an attempt by xbox owners to discredit their console. What is it with people round here?! If there is a problem with the 2.01 update effecting some owners, its good to know - if you can make sure you dont replicate the circumstances of the failure, you might be able to protect yourself against the same problem.

Wonder what they'll be able to show on there. The reason for the delays has been something to do with local licensing agreements with their film/tv distributors so hopefully they got those ironed out.

Given you fanboy idiots do this so much anyway, from now on please fill in this form:

- I am a PS3/360 owner*

- The following games mean my console is better than yours*

KI was possibly the only reason i regret not buying an N64.

i'd be forced to agree to some extent - it will definately appeal to people who've played a previous mgs title, but for those who are less familiar with the series, it may come across as another game based on wars and such (of which there are LOADS around) - not accurate in the slightest, but to those not aware of the series, that might be their impression.

A game like Gran turismo 5 would be a far safer bet as a system seller than MGS4, and would have far broader appeal.

Could tell by the article this was going to be another stupid fanboy flame-war.

This is not a troll, but reading through this entire conversation there are only about 2 peoples opinions that sound like anything other than deranged fanboy rants. The ps3 is a good console. The 360 is a good console. For very different reasons. Neither console is actually harming your ability to enjoy the other (in fact, they are helping it, as the more innovative one company tries to be, the other has to try and follow suit). One has reliability problems, the other has a shockingly small l...

tecmo *currently* have an exclusivity agreement with M$ so i doubt it for a while at least. If i remember rightly, sigma was written by a third party developer, not sure what the deal was there really. You'll probably find its a timed exclusive at the very least.

NG was my favorite xbox game by a mile - forced myself to finish it despite the nutcrushing difficulty level - I cant wait for this - definately the next big game on the 360. (Which is good, as i thought M$ had played too many of their big game cards already this year)

i think they're great. It doesnt change the games i'd buy, it just means that i try to do more hidden stuff in a game i'm playing through. (Bioshock being a perfect example - that game was SO enjoyable because i tried to do as much as i could for the points, it meant i discovered far more about the game) They mean nothing in terms of multiplayer (except perhaps ones like "got to top of world leaderboard" or something) as doing something over and over to get the points doesnt make yo...

In answer to your query about the frame rates, its noticable, but probably doesnt detract from the game, basically because the game isnt really paced in a way that means they impact it much. Its certainly not in the action sequences (strangely) as they move quite smoothly (in my experiences thus far) It does wrangle a bit that such a generally high quality game has such issues, but at the same time, the quality of the whole experience is high enough to mean such issues are forgivable.

wasnt it Lando Calrissian that said that quote? ;o)

You definately notice the texture loading and the frame rate glitches, but because of the nature of the game (not particularly fast pacing etc) it doesn't detract from it. To be honest i'm not a fan of western RPG's as they tend to focus too much on stats improvement rather than the narrative, but i'm totally hooked on ME. Its a superb game. I've only played about 8 hours, and i'm even obssessing about the darn thing when i'm at work. The combat could be improved slightly (i picked infiltrato...
